Kier acquires Buckingham Group’s rail division

British construction company Kier Group has announced the full acquisition of Buckingham Group’s rail assets after it entered administration.

Buckingham Group entered into administration this month due to "cash flow pressures and subsequent losses incurred by the business".

Buckingham Group will become a division of Kier Transportation, which develops, constructs, and maintains infrastructure for road, rail, aviation and port.

Unicard announces acquisition of Ecebs from Visa

UK-based transport ticketing provider Unicard has announced its acquisition of smart ticketing specialists Ecebs from global payments giant Visa. The deal was made with the aim of enabling Unicard to offer a more comprehensive range of solutions in the UK and abroad. According to Unicard, Ecebs’ contactless EMV solution, which allows passengers to tap in and out using a payment card, will significantly enhance its capabilities.

TX Logistik acquires Exploris Deutschland

The Mercitalia Group’s TX Logistik AG has acquired Exploris Deutschland Holding to become the second-largest rail freight operator in Germany.  TX Logistik, which also covers the logistics activities of the FS Italiane Group, will take control of Via Cargo, HSL Logistik and Delta Rail as part of the acquisition, covering rail freight activities in eight European countries.

Skoda and Tata partner up in the Indian market

Czech engineering group Skoda Transportation has signed an MoU with TATA AutoComp Systems to provide components for the expanding Indian railway and public transportation markets. The joint venture allows the Skoda Group to expand into India’s rising market, aligning with the company’s goal of strengthening its position in foreign markets.
