Germany-based Siemens Mobility has signed a €5bn ($5.4bn) framework agreement with the Austrian Federal Railways company ÖBB for a huge rolling stock order.
Hitachi Rail, as part of the IRICAV DUE Consortium, has signed a €1.8bn ($1.9bn) contract to design and install the track and provide digital signalling for a new high-speed line that would cross Vincenza, Italy.
Italian rail operator Trenitalia has awarded a consortium comprising Škoda Group and Titagarh Firema a contract for up to 370 nighttime railway coaches, with a value of around €732m ($783m).
European rolling stock leasing company Akiem has signed a €500m ($560m) framework contract with rolling stock manufacturer Alstom for up to 100 new locomotives.
Siemens Mobility has won a €300m ($328m) contract to supply 28 regional train units to the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The German rolling stock manufacturer said it will provide the three-car electric train units on an “accelerated programme” with delivery slated for 2025.
