Network Rail has released its five-year plan for the control period 7 (CP7), which covers the years 2024-2029 and is expected to cost over £44bn ($54bn).

Amtrak has revealed applications for almost $8bn of federal funding to work on modernising projects along the Northeast Corridor in the US, expanding its services and improving long-distance reliability. 

Škoda Group has signed two contracts with Egyptian National Railways to modernise and maintain at least 280 electro-diesel locomotives. The €1bn ($1.1bn) project marks Škoda’s first expansion into Africa.

RB Rail, the joint venture behind the Rail Baltica project, has been awarded €928m ($1bn) from the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility. The project has now secured approximately €2.7bn ($2.9bn) from the CEF and national funding in total.

French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom has been contracted to deliver 130 low-floor electric trams worth approximately €667m ($718m) to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
