RB Rail, the joint venture behind the Rail Baltica project, has been awarded €928m ($1bn) from the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility. The project has now secured approximately €2.7bn ($2.9bn) from the CEF and national funding in total.

French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom has been contracted to deliver 130 low-floor electric trams worth approximately €667m ($718m) to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
