Wabtec has secured a $4.2bn order from National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) for the delivery of Evolution Series locomotives and ongoing service support.

Tanzania and Burundi have officially commenced the construction of a $2.15bn cross-border standard gauge railway that will connect Uvinza in western Tanzania to Musongati in eastern Burundi.

Eurostar has confirmed a €2bn ($2.32bn) investment in up to 50 new Avelia Horizon double-decker very high-speed trains from Alstom Group. The contract includes an initial order for 30 trains, with an option for an additional 20.

Rail Baltica has signed a contract worth €1.77bn ($2.07bn) for the design and construction of its electrification subsystem. The contract was awarded to the joint venture COBELEC Rail Baltica. It encompasses the complete deployment of the Rail Baltica Energy (ENE) subsystem, with the first phase budgeted at €949m ($1.09m) and set for completion by 2030.

Webuild Group, as part of a consortium, has secured a €1.6bn ($1.86bn) contract for the high-speed Salerno-Reggio Calabria railway line in Italy. The contract encompasses the Paola-Cosenza doubling section, which spans approximately 22.2km in Calabria, primarily underground.
