UES and the design team from Progress Rail worked together to come up with a new Locomotive Driver seat that complies with all the standards, measurements and strength required in this sector.
Replacing the dated but very reliable existing seat UES have supplied to the market was a challenge but we were able to come up with a solution that exceeded all expectations.
The 39 series air suspended seat, which is again part of the 3000 family of seats, was selected for its added ability of being able to separate the upper from the suspension and also the addition of an extra set of slide rails between the upper and suspension which increases the fore and aft adjustability to over 400mm.

UES has worked very closely with Yarra Trams engineers, drivers and management to develop a new driver seat for the B class trams operating in Melbourne. Once again our ability to make changes requested by the client to our standard offering and deliver “tailor made” quality on time has been critical to our selection.
The 34 series Semi static seat by Be-Ge was selected because of its extra comfort and adjustability. The seat also offers shock mitigation by way of 2 dampers as well as 130mm height adjustment and -5 to +15 degrees seat angle adjustment, plus many more features
