New generation of live tracking
Based on the principle of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), Frauscher
Tracking Solutions FTS form a new generation of live tracking. They ena-
ble applications for train tracking, asset condition monitoring and security requirements by using only one single solution – on and near the tracks.
It is possible to detect passing trains, wheel flats, rail defects, footsteps
on or near the cable, works such as sawing or digging, rock falls, animal
herds and more in real-time. To increase data quality, FTS can be combi-
ned with proven axle counters and wheel detection systems. Thus Frau-
scher can provide its customers with massively expanded options.
Intelligent sensors for efficient track
vacancy detection
Based on proven knowhow and the concept of the Internet of Things
(IoT), Frauscher has created a new wheel sensor. The evaluation of the
signal has been integrated directly into the sensor, which now works as
an intelligent device on track. By integrating additional sensing modules,
it generates even more information than established models, enabling
additional and more efficient railway applications to be implemented.
The sensor’s digital output and the ring architecture – based on a speci-fically developed bus system – hugely reduce the cabling requirements. With this innovation, Frauscher will again set a new benchmark in track vacancy detection.
