New Bespoken Gearbox Products Developed by Katsa Oy

Innovative PTO Gearboxes and Clutches coming from Katsa Oy

Katsa will be introducing a series of new, innovative PTO Gearboxes and Clutches at InnoTrans 2018. Typical concept includes Engine bell housing mounting for Power Take-Inn, and PTO´s for hydraulic pumps or other operations. Katsa is also utilizing wet running hydraulic clutches which allow separate engagement for selected PTO´s.

With the standard Gearbox- and Clutch configurations power can go up to 1200 kW and clutch dynamic torque up to 16 000 Nm. Running speeds for Pumps and other Power-Take-Offs can be optimized for the most efficient Engine and Pump selection. Katsa has also developed an integrated control system expanding the life time and performance of the Gearboxes and Clutches. The control system can be either integrated into the main control or separately as a stand-alone with a panel.

The new PTO´s can be also utilized as stand-alone speed increasing or speed decreasing gear units for optimal Diesel-Engine running speeds and maximized fuel efficiency. By Katsa´s strong design expertise, the new gear units suit perfectly for heavy duty Railway Maintenance equipment where hydraulics is widely needed.

Katsa designs and manufactures a driveline transfer-case to electric Locomotive

Katsa, a Finnish Gearbox Manufacturer, has designed and manufactured a tailor-made driving transfer-case gear unit to electric locomotive. The electric locomotive ´LOCO 100E´ is manufactured by Finnish material handling machine manufacturer Mantsinen Group Ltd. and is in operation remotely controlled at Äänekoski Bio Product mill incoming material unloading area in Finland.

With smart and reliable design Katsa´s transfer-case enables locomotive smooth movement under operator’s remote control. Katsa´s transfer-case is designed to handle high pull-out torques in short cycles and achieve high reliability in continuous operation. Gear unit also includes a self-holding multi plate brake to ensure safe unloading operations at all times and to meet railway industry´s highest safety standards.
