Polarteknik Oy a company well known for its expertise in interior door systems in intercity and high-speed classes of railway of rolling stock is strengthening its position in metros and trams with the introduction of new partition wall products.


With a history from the 1970's Polarteknik Oy is a well-known company for its capability for innovation and tailoring customer-oriented solutions for the large global OEMs. Products and services offering ranges from standard components to bespoke customised systems.


Polarteknik Door Systems product range includes complete fire barrier walls, automatic single or double leaf sliding doors, telescopic, curved, manual, sliding and hinged doors. The service portfolio includes design, installation and commissioning support, maintenance, modernisation, spare parts and technical support during the lifetime of the fleet.


With the award of interesting new contracts Polarteknik announces the launch of products aimed at metro and tram sector to increase driver comfort and safety.

Driver partitions for Metro

Metro cabin walls with extreme fire protection for all markets ranging from E15 until EI45 fire resistance.

Full glass fire partition wall for a Metro

Full glass partition wall has a fire resistance property of EW20 for a metro. The partition is pre-equipped with an automatic door system with button opening.

Curved cabin-back wall to a Tram

This tram project saw the development of a new curved cabin-back wall to a tram platform but usable in other trains types as well.

Driver cabin back partition to Metro

This metro cabin back fire partition has EI45 fire integrity rating. The products will be delivered between 2018 and 2020. Structural requirements are rigorous according to EN 12663-1:2010 Cat. P-I with 5g acceleration in X-axis.s
